Zubeida Koome:My ride has to be clean

Living

What type of car do you drive?

A silver Toyota RAV4.

What additions have you made to your car to give it a personal touch?

I have barely touched a thing. I love it just as it is.

What girly stuff do you carry in your car?

Just like any other lady does, I have a couple pair of shoes. I also have a jacket as I love wearing short sleeved dresses and it can get chilly at times.

What do you love about your car?

I love the body of my car. It oozes a certain sophisticated sex appeal that I like.

What one thing can you never do with your car?

I can never drive with my baby in the car. I always panic thinking that something will happen. So my husband always drives us.

 What was your first car?

My first car was a Toyota Premio. I however found it to be a bit too manly.

Which animal are you on the road, a cheetah or a tortoise?

I never drive beyond 80 km/h. I don’t know if that is too fast.

 What is your dream car?

I have always loved convertibles, but I am comfortable with the one I have at the moment.

If you were stranded on a highway with a flat tyre, what would you do to get help?

I always call my husband. He is instrumental and always knows what to do.

If you had the privilege of a siren on your car, what outrageous thing would you do?

I would never want it, let alone use it. I am of the opinion that no matter how long it takes, you will eventually get to your destination.

What do you do to kill time while in traffic?

I turn up the volume and dance to the music. I love Bongo songs.

What has been your experience like driving in Nairobi?

I am a careful driver and whenever I do not feel safe to drive, I always call my husband to pick me up or I take a cab. That was until one day he had travelled out of town and I was forced to drive in the rain. I could barely see anything on the road. The moment I got home, I said a thanksgiving prayer for journey mercies.

What habit would you not tolerate from people you carry in your car?

I do not like people littering my car. In addition, I like people leaving my car as it is so, no changing my music unless I do.

What advice would you give a lady who wants to buy a car?

Buy a car that you love and will serve you. That way you will take exceptionally good care of it.

On average, how much do you spend on your car?

There are no limits to spending on my car. Whatever it takes I will spend on it.
