Chef Ali: Super easy steps on how to make tuna chili
Let’s make my ultimate super easy tuna chili. Chili is a popular American staple made of beans and ground meat - chicken, turkey or beef - and many other variants. We love our beans in Kenya so let’s give this recipe own twist.
What you will need:
200g baked beans (canned) 200g red kidney beans 3 tablespoons tomato paste 2 tablespoons oil 1 onion, chopped 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Juice of 1 lime Salt to taste 150g canned tuna in oil 1/2 bunch cilantro chopped
What to do:
In a pan over medium heat, add oil and saute the onions until golden brown. Add in minced garlic then continue to cook until fragrant.
Add the tuna and mix well then the coriander powder, salt to taste, black pepper and tomato paste. Continue to stir until the mixture is thick.
Add in canned red kidney beans with some water from the boiling pot. Mix well, then add in the canned baked beans with its sauce and bring to a boil for about 7 minutes or until the sauce is thick.
Finish off with some lime juice and chopped cilantro then serve in a bowl with some yellow buns, popularly known as scones, on the side.
NOTE: You can make chili dogs if you wish by stuffing the chili mixture into a hotdog bun.Which Internet activity are you addicted to?
