Staying away from men is the secret to a long healthy life: Advices Scotland’s oldest female

Jessie Gallan, is a 109 years-old woman who has become the oldest female in Scotland (UK).

Recently, during an interview with STV News, she revealed her secret for a long and healthy life which is quite funny. She recommends smiling every morning, having a bowl of porridge for breakfast, and the most important, avoiding men during her whole life.

Jessie, who turned 109 last January, explained "'My secret to a long life has been staying away from men. They're just more trouble than they're worth". "I also made sure that I got plenty of exercise, eat a nice warm bowl of porridge every morning, and have never gotten married."

The 109-year-old has been independent her whole life, working hard since she was 13 and didn’t take any vacation. Her last job was a waitress.

"I have never had to depend on anybody," Gallan said during the interview, "but I'm fine."

Jessie Galan also attends church on Sundays and likes listening to music, a caregiver from the place where she stays said "all her wits about her. She is amazing."
