
Groove Award winning gospel group Christ Cycoz have split up.
In they have described as a gradual process, the trio decided it was time for them to pursue other interests.
Cycoz which comprises of Ben Kariuki, Muriuki Kagiri and Clinton Andambi took off back in 2013 and have gone ahead to win numerous awards including the prestigious Groove Award group of the year 2015.
Ben who has always gone by the name Ben Cyco, and continues to retain the same moniker, is the only one who has chosen to continue pursuing music.
“I might have studied political science but music has always been my passion. I am sad to see Cycoz go but we all needed to grow in our different passions. Our split was mutual and we continue to support each other.”
Ben has already released his first single Lile Lile and will be dropping a video soon.
Over the last couple of months, Kagiri has set himself apart in the fashion blogging world through his dapper brother blog. The blog, which features him modelling different male wear, won the Mimi Fashion Blogger contest.
"We felt that the time had come to go our separate ways and work on our individual goals," Kagiri said about the split.
Clinton who goes by the nickname Dambiz chose to follow his production passion. "I stopped recording, to venture more on visual production, this was a professional decision made by all group members and we respected our decisions made a few months back .." he said.
His outfit Cloud Montage was involved in Ben Cyco’s new single.
