A man should have a wife for the family and a mistress for pleasure

Last week I heard a man telling his fellow guys that a man should have a wife for the family and a mistress for pleasure. How humiliating can this be for any woman out there and especially those who want to get married.

Men should be serious sometimes when they discuss such issues among themselves. Why should you marry a woman when all you want is for her to be a mother? I really don’t understand this.

Thinking of it, a wife does a lot in a marriage compared to the man. Being a mother is a full time job and a very important one. Men nowadays want to marry educated and financially stable women, there’s no harm in that, but remember balancing a career and being a mother is not easy at all; something that most men cannot do.

So when men say that a wife can be there for a family and just to complete the title of a man as a husband and a father is quite absurd. Having a justified mistress for pleasure is even worse. Marriage is an institution built on love, trust and compassion.

When God said that a man will leave his parents’ house to go live with a woman, He did not say that a man should have a mistress. To all the men out there, if you want a woman for pleasure, please don’t marry her and waste her life.
