Rhumba maestro General Defao is being detained at a Mombasa hotel after failing to pay the bill.

The Congolese star was held on Saturday night at the Rickside Villas in Nyali after failure to settle a Sh 20,00 bill.

Defao faulted his promoter for the incident afte reportedly abandoning him.

Born Matumona Defao Lulendo, Defao is not one to shy away from controversies. Former DRC President Laurent Kabila banned him from performing his music back in 2000 after a political misunderstanding.

In mid-2015, the star left fans shocked after bleaching himself.
