The Nairobi Stock Exchange opened 2011 on a positive note, most prices heading north and promising a bullish trend in the first quarter of 2011 hoping that the market does not suffer unexpected shocks. All prices but eight closed the day in positive territory adding an impressive 62.80 points to the benchmark n-s-e 20 share index and 1.40 points to the comprehensive all share index.
