Low maintenance hairstyles for the working woman

Going to work means looking your best at all times (Image: Shutterstock)

Most women can agree that one of the hardest things to do is make your hair. Week after week we are plagued with the same questions; ‘how will I look, how much is the style and how long will it last.’

In most cases, to get the best services and perfect hairstyles in town, you have to dig deep in your pockets, every two weeks if not weekly.

However, this doesn’t always have to be the case. You can actually make your hair without worrying about the money or how you will look at the end of it all.

Here are some low maintenance hairstyles that will not have you breaking the bank every week:

Wigs are currently the latest trend in town and with good reason (Image: Shutterstock)
  • Wigs

Yes, most of them cost a fortune but they will be of use in the long run. They are easy to install and they come in handy for those bad hair days. Furthermore, you won’t have to worry about how you look or stress over salon money every other month.

  • Texturised hair

We all reach a point when we want to have our hair out but can’t manage it that way, if that’s the case you can relax it. Texturised hair is so much easier and fun to work with, no more fighting your comb every morning and hoping your hair behaves all day.

  • Dreadlocks

Although dreadlocks are amazing, they are not for everyone. However, if you can manage a single hairstyle for months, this is exactly what you need. You can have temporary locks as well in case you want to take them out later.

  • Keep it short

Who said only long hair looks nice? Sometimes we slave and suffer with long hair when we are meant to keep things short and sweet. Cuts are much cheaper and imagine all the hair colours you could explore while figuring out which one suits you?

  • Knotless braids

Unlike the usual braids, knotless braids are friendlier to your hairline and they can last you a month or more. Why knotless? At the root your hair makes the knot first this way this style is neither painful nor bulky on your head.

  • Ghanian lines

I honestly don’t know why we call them that but we are grateful for this style. They are easy to install and very affordable. Have I also mentioned the numerous options you can choose from? This style is perfect for those busy days and you still want to look hot.

  • Spring twists

Last but not least is this style that most women seem to be installing all over town and with good reason. Spring twists are easy to work with and they can last for up to 2-3 months without looking ragged. Why? They already look ragged from the beginning and as they get older, they look better.
