1. Flavoured yoghurt
Fruity yoghurts may appear healthy but they are packed with sugars to enhance and sweeten the flavours. A small tub can contain two teaspoons of added sugar. Alternative: natural yoghurt.
2. Cereals
Besides obvious cereals like coco-puffs, even a bowl of healthy-seeming granola can contain four teaspoons of sugar. Alternative: sugar-free muesli or plain oats.
3. Salad dressing
Jazzing up your salads with dressing may seem harmless but store-bought dressings can have up to one teaspoon of sugar per serving. Alternative: simple vinaigrette or plain balsamic or apple cider vinegar.
4. Soups and sauces
Soups, pasta sauces and condiments may taste savoury but can contain two teaspoons of sugar per serving. Alternative: homemade and sauces.
