Meghan Markle's father Thomas attacked her husband, Prince Harry, during a live interview on Tuesday.

After first admitting he did lie to his daughter before her 2018 wedding, he then compared his actions to two infamous incidents involving Harry.

Thomas told Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain: "We all make mistakes... but I've never played naked pool and I've never dressed up like Hitler."

His comments came as he discussed Meghan and Harry's tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview via videolink live from Rosarito in Mexico.

Thomas, who was speaking late at night, also talked of how he regretted posing for set-up paparazzi photos back in 2018.

However, the 76-year-old then defended himself and said: "Nobody was there to care for us, nobody looked after us. No one helped us.

"Then I saw a headline saying they recommended... to Harry and Meghan that someone come and help me, someone come and take care of me and Meghan and Harry denied that and said, 'don't do it,' so I was left out to dry."

Thomas continued: "And in spite of all that, I still apologised, I'm apologising today again...

"I also said we all make mistakes... but I've never played naked pool and I've never dressed up like Hitler."

Thomas was referring to the time Harry was photographed at Highgrove House at a "Colonial and Native" themed costume party back in 2005 wearing a Nazi German Afrika Korps uniform with a swastika armband.

After the incidents mentioned by Thomas, Harry apologised for his behaviour.

It's unsure what Harry and Meghan will make of Thomas' latest interview and comments, but he did tell Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid that he will keep talking to the press until they reach out to him.

"Bottom line is I’ve never heard back from Harry and Meghan in any way, shape or form. Basically what I do because I don’t hear from them, I do a story with the press," he said on GMB.

"If I don’t hear from them in 30 days, I'll do another one. I would love to hear from them. When they decide to talk to me, I’ll stop talking to the press.

"I've been pushed around and knocked down for one thing I did, for one big mistake I made, and I've apologised for it as many times as I possibly can," he added.
