The Queen and the rest of the royal family are "delighted" by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's exciting pregnancy news.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex told the royal family they are expecting another baby before their announcement on Sunday evening.

They shared a beautiful black and white photo which shows Meghan's growing baby bump, taken by their good friend, photographer Misan Harriman.

Following the announcement, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “Her Majesty, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and entire family are ‘delighted’ and wish them well.”

Royal sources also confirmed members of the royal family were informed by Harry and Meghan that they were expecting prior to the couple’s announcement.

There have been countless reports of tension between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family since Meghan and Harry quit The Firm in 2019.

However the couple are back in touch with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the two families now chat regularly via video call.

The couple sent Kate sweet presents for her birthday in January, and Harry posted Christmas gifts for his nephews and niece.

The new royal baby will be another baby cousin for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

A spokesman for Meghan and Harry confirmed the pregnancy news with a brief statement, saying: "We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child."

Bookies believe the couple will name the new baby Oliver or Diana, with the odds at 8/1 each.

Arthur, Grace, Philip, Albert, George and Isabella are also in the running.

It's been an exciting week for the Royal Family, and Princess Eugenie welcomed her first child a few days ago.

The baby boy was born at The Portland Hospital in London weighing 8lbs 1oz.

Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank were seen leaving the hospital on Friday, beaming and waving to the cameras as they drove away.

According to sources, Meghan and Harry congratulated the couple privately.

Harry and Eugenie are very close, and the Princess and Jack briefly lived at the Sussexes' UK home Frogmore Cottage.
