Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton to reunite despite 'unresolved issues' between princes

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be publicly reunited with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in July, despite there still be "unresolved issues" between the couples.

The Fab Four haven't been seen together since March, when the Sussexes joined Kate, William and the rest of the royal family for the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.

The event, which was Meghan and Harry's last as working royals, came at the height of a fallout between the brothers, and they were reportedly not on speaking terms.

However, royal expert Katie Nicholl explains that things have greatly improved - even though they're not back to where they were.

She says that even though they still have a lot to work out, the two couples are planning to come together publicly in July when they reveal a new statue of their mum, Princess Diana.

Speaking on True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat, Katie says: "There is no suggestion that this friendship or relationship is what it once was, it's come under unbearable strain.

"This time last year they weren’t talking to one and another.

"William was so angry with Harry that he didn't go to that lunch ahead of the Sandringham Summit, that's how bad things were.

"If you fast forward a year and look at now, yes they spent the holiday season in touch and presents were exchanged, they were on Zoom calls.

"There is an ocean between them, there is a big time difference. There is a distance between them.

“Things are better. There are still things to overcome but I think they all realise that for the greater good, you do have to move on in life.

"That July moment with the unveiling of the statue, I think the intention is that the four of them will be together."

William and Harry have commissioned the statue, which will sit in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace, where Diana lived before she died and the Cambridge family's current home.

The statue was first announced in 2017 to mark the 20th anniversary of her death, but while the creation progressed the installation was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

The unveiling date has now been set as July 1, 2021 - what would have been Diana's 60th birthday.

Diana's sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale joined Harry and William on a committee, along with three others, to pick a sculptor for the piece.

Speaking when the statue was first announced, a source close to the Palace said: “Prince William and Prince Harry have dreamed of doing this for a long time.

"They were both just boys when their mother passed away, but are both now fully grown men and want to honour her in the best way possible.

"It has taken 20 years for this to finally come to ­fruition so they are determined it will be a lasting and fitting legacy in what is their official London residence and a place special to them both."

According to Katie, one of the recent things that may have caused more friction in William and Harry's relationship is the Sussexes' decision to use a photo of Diana in their new business venue.

As they launched Archewell, the foundation which will be home to their post-royal projects, including multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify, Meghan Markle and Harry used an adorable snap, which shows a young Harry sitting on his mum's shoulders, was the background of their New Year message alongside a picture of Meghan's mum, Doria.

Motherhood was also the theme of their message, which began: "I am my mother’s son. And I am our son’s mother. Together we bring you Archewell."

Asked how William would feel about Harry using this image, royal expert and author Katie Nicholl told True Royalty TV's Royal Beat: "I think William will be concerned with that, Harry trying to take ownership of the Diana Legacy will be a problem.

"But also Harry doing mental health, Harry doing conservation, these are the issues that William and Kate want to do - that’s where I predict tensions. Heads Together was also Kate’s Idea."
