Baby Drago: What we learn in ‘Heaven’ school

My name is Baby Drago, and in mid-April, I will become three years old.

I am a boy who goes, every day from Monday to Friday, to ‘Heaven School’.

‘Heaven’ school is run by a brown, very nice woman who is called ‘Director Angela.’

I have been going ‘Heaven School’ for the last four weeks.

This is what I have learned over there, from my teacher called Naomi, so far, so good. “Mbali sana, Mzuri sana.”

Week One

Monday – It was ‘Opening Day’ so we just sang and say our names to each other.

Tuesday – We learned a few nursery rhymes, and then we stood in class, tried to remember and recited them. Someone susud when he was recitin ‘Little Miss Muffet.’

Wednesday – We learned how to use a few magic words. Not like ‘abracadabra’ but like please, ‘sorry’ and ‘thank you.’ We spend the whole morning pleasing, thanking and apologising to one another...

Thursday – Today is the day Baby Drago realised he has sooo many body parts. We had to touch our organs, as we shout ‘THIS IS MY EAR,’ ‘THIS IS MY EYE,’ ‘THAT is your NECK!’ (Stop strangling me, please)

Friday – We finally were shown around the school compound (isn’t that what should have happened on Monday, ama)?

Week Two

Monday – ‘Hi.’ ‘Hallo?’ ‘How Are You?’ ‘Goodbye!’ This is what we learned for today from Teacher.

Tuesday – Teacher Naomi bought me a small hanky at break-time and taught me how to blow my nose.

Wednesday – My cold is gone! Today we were taught how to go to the toilet. I can pee in my potty, but still poop into diapers.

Thursday – Today we learned hard things, like how to make ‘Simple Requests’, oral questions and story telling.

Friday – That is the day I got sick at school. To cover her diabs, teacher wrote ‘Drago was FINE during the day!’

Week Three

Monday – Was fun! We scribbled on large papers, then made models with clay and plastercine.

Tuesday – We coloured pictures in a book with crayons, yoh.

Wednesday – I told the class about myself like ‘I am Baby Drago, my sister is called Milan, my nanny is...’

Thursday – We scribbled and coloured.

Friday – We ‘read’ pictures.

Week Four

Monday – More colouring and looking at many pictures.

Tuesday – We wrote many numbers. One day I’ll count until 400.

Wednesday – Was nice. We learn different shapes like circles and triangles.

Thursday – In the morning we listened to Teacher, then imitated the sounds. After lunch, she taught us orals, like how to Brush Teeth.

Friday – More body parts to learn, before we moved on to self-expression, which Baby Drago knows.
