We should always remind ourselves that the purpose of exercising is to get stronger and fitter and improve our overall quality of life. The external benefits are just a bonus and are indicative of the positive changes happening on the inside.
It is easy to get hung up on setbacks but exercise gains are always about progress, not perfection. Rather than compare yourself with others, which only serves to demotivate you further, look back at how far you have come and the strides you have made in your fitness journey.
And finally, it’s normal to have a bad day. Draw a line under it and keep it moving.
