Did you know you can induce your periods, have them come in hours?

Lady Speak

The reason why your periods have delayed can be attributed to several factors which must be ruled out by your gynecologist should it be a recurring issue.

Examples of these include excess estrogen or lack thereof, birth control pills, acne medication and certain anti-depressants are often responsible for missing or delayed periods.

Underlying issues such as PCOS and hormonal imbalance can lead to irregular or absent periods as well and must be diagnosed and treated.

Unless you are very sure you are not pregnant, there are certain ways you can induce a period in days or even an hour. If you dare, here are a few tried and tested ways you can induce your periods.

Apple cider vinegar

This amazing product is one of the most effective remedies when it comes to inducing periods especially if they are late. Not only does ACV alkalize the body, it balances the pH and reduces inflammation caused by hormonal irregularities. To a warm glass of water add two tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar with the ‘mother’ and drink twice before meals. This will provide your body with important minerals and vitamins and reportedly restart delayed periods within a day.

Saffron

If you suffer from delayed periods or amenorrhea, this Ayurvedic remedy is known to induce periods. To a glass of warm milk add some saffron strands or a tea spoon of the spice. Taking this daily will reduce your stress levels which are highly linked to missed periods.

Iodine

An iodine deficiency has been linked to thyroid problems which can cause havoc with your menses. Taking a few drops of organic iodine in a glass of water can trigger periods by correcting the imbalance. To aid in absorption, add magnesium, Vitamin C and selenium to your diet.

Ginger tea

Ginger is known to regulate hormones and increase blood circulation. Therefore, add crushed ginger to boiling water and take it as a tea if you wish. Take this twice a day for fast results.

Blackstrap molasses

This is known to trigger periods almost immediately. Rich in iron, potassium, phosphorus and calcium, blackstrap molasses will not only restart your periods but will also prevent cramps and menstrual pain that comes before menstruation. For even faster results, you can add it a glass of warm water with apple cider vinegar.
