Being a millennial comes with challenges only those born in the 80’s and early 2000’s can understand thanks to a shift in technology and change in social norms. But don’t get it wrong, inappropriate behaviours like cheating and abuse cut across and you will have any sane person running for the door. However, there are relationship deal breakers unique to this generation only. From being inept at texting can have a millennial say ‘bye’ faster than they can order a pizza.
Here are relationship deal breakers that millennials cannot stand.
Deep in debtBeing buried in debt no matter your generation is a deal breaker. Whether it’s student loans, business loans or whatever the reason behind the debt is, no one wants to get into a relationship with someone who has financial issues.
Refusing to grow upMost millenials have had it easier than their parents did and this for some means refusing to adult up. To spot one, they will always have a big dream or idea to make millions, they still live at home with no serious job if any, and worse still they expect to be spoilt with all the trappings life has to offer. Guess what? This gets old over time because there is nothing attractive about being perpetually broke.
Dating appsThere is no excuse for being on Tinder, Bumble or any other dating app if you are dating. Both parties should delete their profiles for obvious reasons. If this does not happen for whatever reason, it will give a millennial reason to walk out of the relationship.
Side hustleDespite the not so flattering reputation they have, millennials are one of the most hard-working generations alive. They have put a spin onto hustling juggling normal 8-5 jobs with side hustles. What does this mean? They have little time for relationships.
Bad texting habitsMillennials are used to having what they want when they want it. This applies to texting. Replying with one word, a single emoji or taking days to reply is a sure way to be dumped.
