Some of our readers shared the more unusual names they have chosen for their bundles of joy

Reasons for choosing the names ranged from an interest in the meaning of the word to a love for a TV show or boy band.

One mum, Charlotte, chose unusual names for all four of her children and says they 'all love them'.

Take a look at some of the entries that were sent in.

1. Buffy May

Charlotte Trinder named her first child Buffy May. Why? She explains: "At the time I loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and she was born in May." Fair enough.

2. Snow Storm

Another one sent in by Charlotte Trinder, who named her second child Snow Storm.

3. Keaton

Ronan with beautiful hair Ronan with beautiful hair

Reader Linda wrote in to tell us that her child, Keaton, was named after Ronan Keating. Who doesn't love Boyzone?

4. Lucipher

It's also the name of the evil cat in Disney's Cinderella

Sneharika said: "Lucipher. It is the other name of satan, I know. But I really like the sound of it and I am a believer of Christ."

5. Tewsday

OK, it's not spelled the same, but it's close...

"I was named Tewsday because my mum liked the 1960's actress Tewsday World.

"It's very unusual - there are around six people on Facebook with the same name as me and spelled either the same or very similar."

6. Hugo

Not an unusual name, but we love the reason behind it - Lindsey Lambe said: "We chose the name Hugo after the fragrance because we knew our baby would be the boss."

7. Ice cube

Charlotte Trinder's third child was named Ice Cube - we reckon they'll grow up to be cool.

8. Aries

Aries means 'ram', which is why the animal represents this sign of the zodiac

Brittany wrote in to tell us: "Two of my children have rather unique names. My daughter's name is Phoenix and my youngest son's name is Aries."

9. Ziva

"We wanted unusual but not wacky. We have a Corey and a Darcy and have seen these names becoming well used.

"I've only heard Ziva on the TV crime drama series NCIS. They're not having the same problem as my elder two - no more Zivas about!"

10. True Love

It's pretty great if you can find your name on a Love Heart

We hope this child will grow up to find it. Mum Charlotte Trinder named her fourth-born child True Love. She says all four of her children love their unusual names.

11. Charlie-Lenore

Shining lights can be beautiful

Hazel said: "My daughter's name is Charlie-Lenore, which means 'strong shining light'. No one has Lenore as a name."

12. Alaric

Simone told us that her newborn is named Alaric after a character from The Vampire Diaries.
