It can be very embarrassing to hug someone and leave half of your made up face on their clothes. While there isn’t a way to completely prevent make-up from rubbing off, there are things you can do to limit it. 1. Use a primer If you want paint to stick on a wall, you need to prime it first. It’s the same with make-up. If you use BB or CC cream, you do not need primer as most of them have a built in primer. 2. Use a sponge Apply a thinner layer of foundation with a sponge or use a powder or waterproof formula. 3. Set your make-up Set your foundation with a finishing powder or make-up spray. 4. Blot your skin If you have oily skin, blot throughout the day. Blotting paper helps to reset your make-up which leads to less shifting. It also prevents that cakey build-up that women often get by adding layers of powder without blotting the oil off first. 5. Don’t touch your face Get into the habit of not touching your face. This helps to prevent accidentally getting your make-up all over anything that your hands touch. 6. Adjust the way you hug Instead of a face to face hug, go at an angle to avoid touching your subjects clothes. 7. Use a make-up fixative. Professional make-up artists know the secret to long-lasting staying power for make-up, especially for occasions like weddings, concerts or just a long day when you need to go from day to evening in a flash. MAC make-up, ELF and urban decay are just a few lines that make fixing sprays which you can add as a finishing touch. These set the make-up on your face so it stays put and keeps you looking great without getting on clothes or anything else.
