With over ten heads of states and thousands standing to applaud him as he played his new hit Mungu Baba, during the Kenya @ 50 celebrations at Kasarani Stadium, gospel star Rufftone was the man of the moment.
Flagged by the General Service Unit band, Rufftone sang his heart out and even got the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, clapping hands and singing alongside.
“The song, Mungu Baba, is a true cry to God. It is a prayer for my country and I wrote it from deep in my heart that God may redeem Kenya from all ills,” Rufftone told MondayBlues.
“As I saw the whole stadium rise up to sing along, I knew the spirit of God was manifest. I was deeply moved and at that point, I knew God was doing something new. It was nothing ordinary. When I was asked to repeat the song, it became clear to me that God was indeed ministering to the nation,” he said.
