Lost in the whole Lupita Nyong’o wave, a top Kenyan model and red carpet celebrity TV host Rachel Marete was at the Oscars awards where she also caused a stir with her glamorous image.

The former Miss Universe crown holder who has been working for a number of TV stations in US was not only covering the Oscars but was also at the venue as a VIP guest thanks to her role in an upcoming Hollywood movie.

“It wasn’t my day. I was there to celebrate Lupita, our great pride on her big day. I am so happy for her. I am working a movie project with a veteran Hollywood actor. It is an independent film, not as huge as 12 Years a Slave, but Lupita’s victory is a door opener for me and other Kenyans. The great times have just begun for us,” Rachel told MondayBlues.

The Kenyan actress and media girl who is also the singer behind the 2012 Kelele hit single told MondayBlues that she had teamed up with talented Hollywood music producers and video directors for her soon to be released tracks.

“If there is one great thing Lupita has taught us, it is that we should all live up to our greatest potential and believe in ourselves. No matter where you come from, your dreams are valid,” she remarked.
