E-sir to Rabbit
E-sir’s debut in early 2000s with Jo was a big hit. In Ogopa 2, Strictly For The Hanye In You released in 2002, he was a run-away success with Leo ni Leo featurreceiving immense airplay. The album Nimefika became by far the most successful album by a local artiste. He also received numerous awards among them the much-coveted Kisima Award in 2003. His untimely death in 2003, cemented his fabled position and left a void too big to fill. Many came but none managed to fascinate the rap scene like he did. However, that all changed in 2006 when Kennedy Ombima otherwise known as Rabbit or Kaka Sungura came onto the scene. Rabbit has gone on to release hit after hit, including: Simba, Dodoma, Nakam, Adisia, and his latest Ligi Soo. His hit song Swahili Shakespeare has been selected for use in a yet to be released Hollywood movie.
