Lola Omotayo, the wife of singer and actor Peter Okoye has on September 2 turned a year older. Taking to social media to celebrate his wife’s birthday, the P Classic Group CEO, formerly of the defunct Nigerian music powerhouse P-Square, gushed over his wife as he invited the world to share his abounding joy.
“Please join me and wish my wife, my best friend, my partner, my lover, the mother of my children and the keeper of my heart a special happy birthday!” wrote Okoye. To which she dotingly responded, “Thank you so much, sweetheart. Love you.” The two wedded in 2013 and had before saying ‘I do’ in a star-studded event in Lekki, Lagos, dated for over a decade.
In the comment section, several celebrities joined the star in wishing the glam girl the best of wishes. Taking to her personal account, Lola, in a deep post glazed with introspection, stated that she is grateful and feels blessed. “Baba Modupe o! Another year added...I am grateful to the Almighty God for His grace and mercy upon my life. I give God all the glory. I am thankful for everything He has blessed me with, my life, my health, my family and friends,” she wrote.
She has every reason to count her blessings. In July, she opened up about her experience with coronavirus and appealed for vigilance. "I don't wish this upon my worst enemy and I need to let everybody known that Covid is real. I suffered, I went through a lot of pain, I watched my family go through it and I really don't wish this against my worst enemy," she wrote. "I want to thank my doctor Dr Ayo who took good care of me, my family, and staff. I want to thank everyone who reached out to us during this terrible Covid-19 experience. My dear friends and family, thank you so much for your love. Your phone calls and prayers helped me and my family heal faster."
She went on: “I want to thank everyone who reached out to us during this terrible Covid-19 experience. My dear friends and family, thank you so much for your love. Your phone calls and prayers helped me and my family heal faster. The grace of God is upon my family and I am so grateful to God Almighty. My love and prayers are with those currently battling this disease, you are not alone. We will continue to pray for your healing. For those who lost loved ones, we pray for you too my heart bleeds for your loss. We need to keep our parents safe. Please encourage older people to stay at home.”
