Brad Pitt, 55, and Jennifer Aniston, 50, were hailed as one of Hollywood's hottest couples before they ended their four-year marriage in 2005.
It is no surprise that their divorce came as a shock when looking at the final time they walked the red carpet together, as they appeared the picture of happiness.
In snaps taken at the 56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - which took place in September 2004, months before they announced their split - the handsome hunk and sitcom star showed no signs of their coupling being on the rocks.
As they floated down the carpet at the high-profile event photographers captured a number of sweet and tender moments between the duo.
In one gorgeous photo Brad - who went on to marry Angelina Jolie after he and Jennifer called time on their marriage - could be seen lovingly gazing down at blonde Jennifer.
In another photo Jennifer could be seen laughing alongside her then husband and in other amorous images they cozied up to each other.
For the awards bash Friends star Jen wowed in an ethereal white gown embellished with beading.
Brad looked suave in a black tux and kept up his cool demeanor by donning shades.
The pair wed in 2000 after two years of dating, but divorced in 2005 amid a flurry of speculation that Brad ditched Jen in favour of Angelina Jolie, 44.
Even while Brad and Ange were an item (between 2005 and 2016), there were some whispers that the Fight Club star was still in close contact with Jennifer.
And then, after Brad’s romance with Angelina collapsed in 2016 (just two years after they married) - and Jen's own marriage to Justin Theroux, 48, ended after two years in 2017 - hopes of a Brad and Jen reunion came alive.
OK! magazine had suggested Jen and Brad had been enjoying “low-key dinners” at her house ever since he attended her 50th birthday celebrations back in February 2019.
However, a spokesperson seemed to be quickly dispatched to play down the report - telling Entertainment Tonight: “She continues to stay in touch with Brad and they occasionally talk”.
The pair are now rumoured to be reuniting at the Golden Globes tonight and will struggle avoiding one another as they are said to be seated just feet away.
