- Fast-rising Kenyan comedian Chipukeezy is headed for Dallas
- He will be sharing the stage with Nigerian comedian Basketmouth
- All his expenses during his stay in Dallas are catered for by Tanzanian entertainment company
Destined for Dallas, US, this weekend, fast-rising Kenyan comedian Chipukeezy says he will make Kenyan comedy count once he steps onto the stage to host the Afrimma Awards.
“I am the first Kenyan comedian to be given such an international stage and I am set to make history once I'm in Dallas,” he told MondayBlues.
“I know this opportunity will open more doors for me and other Kenyan comedians,” remarked the funny man.
Since he met his idol Kevin Hart in the US early this year, Chipukeezy’s star has been on the rise.
Come Sunday, the new king of comedy will be sharing the stage with Nigerian comedian Basketmouth as they host the prestigious Afrimma Awards show in which a number of Kenyan artistes have been nominated.
They include singers Sauti Sol, Nyashinski, Victoria Kimani, Avril, Akothee, Willy Paul and Vista as well as deejays Crème de la Crème, Mfalme and Kalonje.
Last week, ‘Chipu’ got a call from a Tanzanian entertainment company called Drop Outs Entertainment that offered to cater for all his expenses during his stay in Dallas.
The company offered a limo for the Kenyan comedian and security guards, posh hotel accommodation and money.
“I am overwhelmed and grateful to God for all this. It is proof that consistency, discipline and hard work pays. I thank the Tanzania company for their offer. What a big surprise,” he said.
