Comedian Eric Omondi is on cloud nine after he added another feather to his cap courtesy of two prestigious awards at the African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA).
Held on Saturday, October 19, in New Jersey, USA, Omondi could not hide his joy on being awarded the Best Comedian in Africa and the African King of Comedy Award at the event.
“The president is now king. Every obstacle, be it human or object, bow down; best comedian Africa and African king of comedy,” wrote Omondi on Instagram.
Several personalities such as Jalango, Chipukeezy and Caroll Radull among others joined fans of the fast-rising comedian in congratulating the former Churchill Show star.
“Well-deserved Eric! So proud of your journey,” wrote sports media personality Carol Radull.
‘Churchill Raw’ host Jasper Muthomi alias MC Jessy was not left behind either and patted Omondi on the back.
“Congratulations baba yao,” shared MC Jessy.
On his part, iconic Congolese legend Awilo Longomba gleefully recognized his newfound friend as King.
“Congratulations king,” posted the Coupé Bibamba crooner.
The recognition is not Omondi's first successful rodeo abroad.
In 2018, trounced Nigeria's established act Basketmouth and Uganda's Salvado to win the Best Comedian in Africa award.
Omondi was not the only success story at the AEAUSA ceremony.
Uganda's Idris Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo took home the Best African Entertainer award.
“Congratulations Uganda. We just won African entertainer of the year 2019 at African entertainment awards, USA," announced Kenzo on Facebook.
Kenzo was up against Nigerians; Davido and Wizkid and Tanzania's Diamond Plantumz.
