Tharaka-Nithi Senator Prof Kithure Kindiki wants the military to be called in deal with a newly created resistance movement to drive NASA’s civil disobedience campaign.
Speaking at his Irunduni home in Tharaka Constituency yesterday, Prof Kindiki said the movement was a threat to the national security and must therefore be dealt with by the Kenya Defence Forces.
“The country’s security organs should take the declaration by Opposition leader Raila Odinga seriously because the matter is no longer political but a security concern,” he said.
He described the organisation as a guerrilla movement formed to forcefully take over power from a legitimately elected government. Kindiki said that by transforming NASA into a resistance movement, Raila was ending an outstanding political career.
“The former Prime Minister has made the wrong decision of planning to use a militia to take power by force.
Raila announced earlier in the week that NASA would be transforming itself into a resistance movement designed to force change by disobeying unjust laws
