Events happening in Nairobi this weekend are:

Richie Spice Live at Mempis, KICC 

Hype Group Limited presents the Nobody Can Stop Reggae (NCSR); a concept curated by The Hype Group Limited for all reggae music lovers at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre tomorrow night.

The legendary Richie Spice alongside his Element band headlines the concert alongside Kenya’s very own DJs Moh Spice, Juan and ZJ Heno.

Entry charges are Sh2,200. The celebrated star will make a special appearance at Mempis Lounge on Thika super highway before the main concert. This limited edition will also see other stars join in for a meet-and-greet session.  

Churchill at Carnivore

Continue the celebration of love tonight at Carnivore grounds as Laugh Industry presents the Love edition comedy show featuring top comedian Churchill and other acts. Gate charges are Sh500 and Sh1,000 VIP. 

Safaricom International Jazz

Two-time Grammy award winner Marcus Miller will headline the popular Safaricom Jazz International Festival at Kasarani stadium this Sunday.

The sixth edition of the festival also features supporting performances from Kenyan guitarist Kato Change, Ghetto Classics, The Safaricom Youth Orchestra, Germany’s Jazzrausch Bigband, Belgium’s Toine Thys Trio feat Hervé Samb, UK’s Yazmin Lacey, Portugal’s Viviane (Portugal) and Israel’s Omri Mor Trio. 

Sauti Sol, Flavour at Uhuru Gardens

Enjoy one of the biggest love-fests on this side of the Sahara with an amazing line-up of African acts and lots of entertainment featuring Flavour, Sauti Sol, Steph Kapela, Alicious, Petra, DJs Crème de la Crème and Dii, MCs Pascal Tokodi and Kate the Actress among others courtesy of the Festival of Love concert at Uhuru gardens tomorrow.

Level 7 Lounge thrill moments

Mombasa Road is the new entertainment district with the new NextGen Mall hosting a series of entertainment spots. And, Level 7 Lounge, the premiere club at the mall, kicks off the on a high with an assortment of entertainment events this weekend.

Tonight, the party starts with a hip-hop throw down of Old School to New School jams with DJ Supreme on the decks. Tomorrow features a DJs showdown. Weekday events include a reggae show and Karaoke night.

The Fashion High Tea

The ninth edition of the popular Fashion High Tea goes down at Zen Gardens tomorrow. Known for its glamour, pizzazz, prestige and unmatched execution, FHT is the hottest fashion ticket in Nairobi with designers showcasing their latest collections, threads and pop up boutiques along the runway. Charges are Sh6,500. 

Two Hours of Sunset

After months of hiatus, the popular outdoor film festival, Two Hours of Sunset makes a return at Kanjata Road, Lavington, Nairobi tomorrow. The event will premiere the Kenyan romantic comedy Disconnect.

The flick is from the director of Nairobi Half-life working with actors: Brenda Wairimu, Nick Mutuma, Catherine Kamau, Pascal Tokodi, Patricia Kihoro and Pierra Makena among others. Charges are Sh1,000. 

Because You Said So (BYSS)

II Mbili Entertainment continues to host its immensely hilarious Kenya’s premiere improv-comedy show ‘Because You Said So (BYSS)’ at the Junction Mall, Nairobi, tomorrow.

The rib-cracking show, now in its 28th edition, boasts of featuring a talented cast of June Gachui, Mugambi Nthiga, Patricia Kihoro, Kevin K1 Maina, Yafesi Musoke, Justin Karunguru and Jason Runo among others.

Charge are Sh1,800 per person, Sh3,000 per couple. 

Get your groove on at Woodstock Club

January is behind us and the party mood is back as the love month of February rolls on. And what better way to kick-off the new month this weekend than to head to Athi River town’s best entertainment spot Woodstock Club and Lounge, right inside Makadara?

Venture into the new cool joint, also known as Kwa Oscar, tonight and tomorrow for the best of entertainment and refreshing times. The joint will be playing the best of hip-hop, R&B and African fusion all weekend with favourable prices for your favourite drink.

UK’s Lady Leshurr Live

UK’s queen of grime and hip-hop Lady Leshurr performs for the first time in Kenya at the Muze in Westlands, Nairobi, tomorrow night.

Her recent track Black Madonna (featuring Mr Eazi) has seen her reach new heights and a desire to come to East Africa to meet her audience. She shares the stage with Vallerie Muthoni, Trap King Chrome, G Money and Lasta. Charges are Sh1,000. 

In Mombasa:

Akothee for Watamu Vals Beach Party

After a month of preparations, the boss lady - Akothee - leads her Akothee Empire team to Watamu where they will be hosting the biggest Valentine’s concert tomorrow.

The event, which will feature a number of artistes, among them Akothee’s new signing, Ziky, will be held at Papa Remo.

This has been hyped as the biggest beach party this season and tickets to the show are almost running out. Pulse Magazine is powering the event. 

Charges are Sh2,000.

In Kwale:

Family fun at Kaskazi, Diani

Kaskazi Beach hotel presents the Big Family Fun Day, a day long family beach event that takes place at the beach spot this Sunday.

With free entry for all, the extravaganza will see all treated to great music with DJ Sonchizi and emcee Nottystee in the driving seat. The event will feature a talent scouting competition, kids shows and a host of amazing water games. There will also be surprise performances and plenty of food and drinks.

In Kisumu:

Hits Republic at Club da Place

The Valentine’s Saturday treat moves to Club da Place in Kisumu tomorrow night. Hits Republic 254 led by DJ Tibz lead the gig that has been christened ‘Kisumu Party Up’.

The night will provide good pleasantries for fun-lovers with the best of music mix by the leading stable. Entertainment goes on all weekend with Sunday being a special family day.  

In Ngong:

Maasai Valentines at Kompas Bistro

With Simply Susan and Band entertaining the crowd, a special Valentines party dubbed Maasai Valentines goes down at Kompas Bistro and Grill in Ngong Hills tomorrow starting 10am.

With many activities among them zip lining, paint ball, archery, cycling, bonfire and quad biking taking place, the all-day thrill will have party people spoiled for choice. There will be plenty of music and sumptuous grills. Don’t miss out.

In Machakos:

Party at Club da Palace, Wamunyu

Looking for a nice out of town plot this weekend? Well, the new Club da Palace in Wamunyu town in Machakos is the hot spot to be at. Hosting top musicians and DJs, the Kitui highway one-stop entertainment joint welcomes you tonight and tomorrow.

There will be lots of African cuisines to sample as well as safe parking for those who will drive. The party kicks off as early as 8pm and goes on till late.

Reggae Splash with DJ Izrael

A special Valentines reggae jam dubbed Reggae Splash goes down at the new Parkside Villa spot in Kitui town tonight. The new entertainment hub that has been attracting top entertainers from Nairobi will also see surprise appearances by other stars.

The show kicks off at 8pm. Parkside Villa is a budget friendly hotel located on the outskirts of Kitui town. Pitching itself as the new go-to entertainment spot, the hotel has a luxurious restaurant and accommodation facilities for visitors.
