A head teacher who confessed of drunkenness while invigilating KCPE may be freed tomorrow. Peter Kamau of South Wales Academy in Ol Kalou has spent a week in Nyahururu GK remand prison on the petty offence of “drunk and disorderly”.
The teacher confessed to a Nyahururu court, saying: “Yes, indeed I was drunk and disorderly when I went to pick KCPE material for my pupils.”
The remorseful tutor, however, pleaded guilty to charge particulars of “staggering and shouting under the influence of alcohol,” adding that it will never happen again.
Police who arrested him feared that he would fail to deliver the KCPE exams, notified education honchos to delegate the duty to another tutor as they escorted the tipsy Kamau to police for probing.
All eyes are now on Nyahururu Senior Resident Magistrate Ocharo Momanyi who remanded him to pronounce judgment on the now sober teacher tomorrow.
