Fast rising South African Kwaito star Sho Madjozi has pleaded with her fans to accord her space to grief as the New Year beckons following the tragic death of her sister Makhananï Maganye on December 17.

I’ve had the most incredible year. But I don’t want to only share the wins and the successes with you guys, right now I’m experiencing the worst possible hurt.

In a heart-breaking thread eulogizing her sibling, Madjozi narrated that her sister had just completed a makeup course in Johanessburg when she was involved in an accident in Bungeni village, Limpopo.

A painful spell having had a stellar year that Madjozi revealed shook her to the core and almost drove her to the wall.

When I heard the news I wanted to stop doing everything (and I did). So much of what I do is to give her and mama a better life. So I didn’t see the point in carrying on. pic.twitter.com/QWwvhGN5Nk

The John Cena star explained that she contemplated calling it quits as her struggles was to give her and their mother a better life.

When she was born my mama asked me what we should call her and I said Nyeleti which means “star”. pic.twitter.com/Op9JnYUH3k

The turning point, she noted, was after the funeral when her legion of fans camped at her page and stood with her during the period.

After the funeral I thought I would never come out of that hole. The next day my manager showed me that I was trending on twitter. He showed me pictures of girls I had inspired.

She added that whilst she is gone, Maganye will forever be with her and will live through her work.

No one will ever know how much that meant to me. Later I sat and went through all of the pictures by myself. Each one was like a star appearing on an impossibly dark night.

I am incredibly sad about all the things I won’t be able to do with my sister. I am heartbroken for my mother in particular. But I’m grateful for the love you guys showed me without even knowing how much I needed it.

Maganye was laid to rest on December 22 according to her management.

“On Behalf of Sho Madjozi, we wish to express our gratitude for the support we have received following the tragic death of her younger sister, Makhananï Maganye, in a car accident on the 17th of December in Bungeni village, Limpopo. Makhanani was laid to rest on Sunday 22 December,” read the statement in part.
