Huduma Kenya came closer to setting up a centre in each of the 47 counties with the recent opening of the Nyandarua Huduma Centre by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The digital public service provider now has 33 fully operational centres across the country as the Government races to fully digitise its services, Head of the Huduma Kenya Secretariat Dennis Mutuku said yesterday.
He said the secretariat was working around the clock to ensure the remaining counties get their Huduma centres soon. Some of the counties with Huduma centres include Nyandarua, Nyamira, Kwale, Makueni, Kibra, Thika, Nairobi (GPO Nairobi City square, Makadara, Eastleigh, GPO Mombasa, Bungoma, Siaya, Kitui, Embu, Kisumu, Kisii, Kakamega, Kajiado, Machakos, Meru, Isiolo, Wajir, Turkana, Nyeri, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kericho and Taita Taveta.
Mutuku said the operational centres offer between 25 and 45 services to the public with a very high satisfaction rate from consumers. "However, delays may sometimes occur in regional centres arising from documents that require further clarifications but we always find solutions to deliver in good time."
"We believe in going the extra mile to ensure every customers' needs are met when it comes to service delivery regardless of region," he adds.
Further, Mutuku said where the services sought are yet to be available on the Huduma Kenya programme, the customers are referred to the relevant ministries or departmental offices. However, he said, Huduma staff make follow-ups to ensure the services are provided as quickly as possible.
Huduma Kenya is a Government programme established to enhance access to and delivery of Government services to all Kenyans.
It uses the concept of Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) in a one-stop shop, something that has not been conceived or utilized before, even in some of the more developed nations of the world.
