The Old Trafford decider- Leicester face Manchester United in vital match

This is legendary stuff. Few of us ever imagined it could get to this; it was not supposed to be this serious.

Did the Premier League big boys miscalculate or was Leicester City just damn lucky through and through? How did we get ourselves inside this hole?

One of the biggest upsets could happen this Sunday when the runaway league leaders Leicester face Manchester United at Old Trafford. If Leicester win the match, they win the title. Period! The Foxes can complete their incredible story on Sunday by winning the Premier League title with two games to spare.

Leicester needs just one more victory from their three remaining fixtures following Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with West Brom on Monday.

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri used to be famous for having new phrases made up about him, none of them flattering. He was the ‘Tinkerman’ who haphazardly rotated his players at Chelsea and moved on to be a ‘Dead Man Walking’ when the club wanted José Mourinho. Come Sunday he could pull the most spectacular upsets of modern football.

Who would have thought we would see this? To add salt to injury, Foxes, who had been viewed as underdogs until very recently will fancy to storm into history books by winning the coveted trophy in a stadium that, in bygone eras was believed to be the natural home of that trophy.

If this were to happen, it will be the most poignant sign that the buffet table meant for the big men in the game has been stormed by young and unruly youngsters keen to upset table manners and protocol.

Can it happen? Yes. Will it happen? Who knows...?

Finding fourth

Some things feel like they were projected long time ago and there is no way of undoing them. Why does it feel as if the fourth spot and Arsenal are fraternal twins?

Lots of Gooners are pissed off and rightly so. Just imagine a scenario where Arsenal finish ahead of Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool, but somehow still find a way to finish fourth?

After being taken on a fairy tale this season when Arsenal was touted to be best poised to win the league, it has turned out, but with no assurances, that Arsenal will be battling for their usual position.

We were told that Leicester will drop points, Leicester does not have the mental capacity to cope with title push, Leicester does not have pedigree, Leicester...

From title favourites to scrambling for fourth with Arsenal’s fiercest rivals Manchester United. How did Arsenal get into this hole?

First and foremost, Arsène Wenger must admit that he has blown it. His decision not to bring a lethal striker whose conversion rate is closer to the opportunities is the biggest problem. Arsenal has dropped about 20 points from needless losses and draws. This could have been achieved if the Gunners had a sniper worth his salt. Olivier Giroud was never good enough for Arsenal. Compare this to seasoned strikers like Barcelona’s Luis Suárez, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.

If Giroud was a crime buster, and he took five aims at a criminal, he would still miss.  When we have Theo Walcott as his competition for the preferred striker, and it’s not a beauty contest, aren’t we in trouble?
