Jubilee Alliance Party told to recruit members in Nyanza

The Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) supporters from Nyanza want the party to give the region top priority in the forthcoming membership recruitment to garner more support.

Speaking to The Standard in Homa Bay town, former TNA Chairman in Karachuonyo constituency Charles Amenya said he had heard information that Nyanza may not be given a lot of consideration on grounds that it was a stronghold of the opposition coalition CORD.

"JAP is a national party and we are committed to attracting more support for the party ahead of 2017. We want the party leadership to bring all the necessary facility to this region so that more members can be registered," said Mr Amenya.

He argued that there was need for counties where President Uhuru Kenyatta had less support to be given the first priority.

Amenya urged Nyanza residents to stop clinging to one political party and join new parties that are trying to gain ground in the region. He also called on JAP to extend recruitment period by one week.
