Kenyatta family hasn't applied for lease renewal, says National Land Commission

National Land Commission Chairman Muhammad Swazuri

The family of first President Jomo Kenyatta has not applied for renewal of a lease for their 30,000 acre farm in Taveta sub-county, the National Land Commission (NLC) has revealed.

NLC Chairman Muhammad Swazuri explained this means the lease for the land has not expired to warrant a renewal.
