Even before the dust settles on the grave of Yusuf Hussein, who was buried on Friday, Meshack Yebei's family has turned the heat on the investigations team, complaining of being sidelined.

Speaking to The Standard, Ken Yebei expressed disappointment over what he termed Government failure to make a comprehensive investigation based solely on the murder as opposed to the identity of the body.

"Investigators turned their backs on finding out the truth about who might have murdered our brother and instead put emphasis on identifying the body, which we had already confirmed belonged to our kin," he said.

The family questioned why, despite a court injunction they placed preventing anyone from getting the body from the morgue, police went ahead to allow its burial.

Yebei's mother, Priscillah Kisorio, said the news from the Government chemist had left her devastated.

"It is him. The Government has only denied us the body of my son. Why are they saying it belongs to Yusuf when I identified him positively?" she asked.

She said some crucial information that would have assisted the probe was not considered by the team.
