William Ruto has become prisoner of self denial in bid to save face

Coalitions of political parties’ are constituted on partnerships that are not always at par, Jubilee not excepted. That explains why William Ruto prides in the title of ‘deputy president’ while President Uhuru Kenyatta hogs the full honours. I don’t recall anybody casting a vote for Ruto but if I am wrong, correct me. He is riding on the crest of the wave generated by Kenyatta’s speedboat, period.

If Kenyatta quits, Ruto has no two ways about it. He too must go. If Ruto quits, Kenyatta stays, needing only to look around for another malleable replacement from URP for the propagation of appearances.
