71-year-old-man kills neighbor for seducing wife

NAIVASHA, KENYA: Police officers in Naivasha are holding a 71-year-old man who allegedly hacked his 66 year old neighbor to death claiming he seduced his wife.

The man attacked the neighbor with a machete accusing him of wrecking his 33-year old marriage.

His 55-year-old wife escaped from the scene leaving his lover lying in a pool of blood after the attack.

Soon after the attack, the man stayed at the scene where police arrested him as he insisted that he only wanted to teach the man a lesson.

The 11pm incident left area residents in shock with some admitting that the relationship was no longer a secret in the sleepy village.

Trouble started after the granny and his 17-year-old son whose whereabouts is also unknown waylaid the lovers as they came from a nearby bar.

According to a motorcycle operator James Muigai, the two lovers entered into a bar and had some drinks before leaving at around 11pm.

“They asked me to take them home but we were accosted by the husband to the woman,” said the operator.

The operator told how the incensed man slashed the man on the head twice before going for the woman who managed to escape.

“I called the police and the man handed himself over while the trader was confirmed dead,” said the operator.

On his part, the man said that his intention was to cut off the ear of the trader and his wife so as to teach them a lesson.

“The two have been having an affair for over three years and the issue has been raised in the chief office but this relationship has continued,” he said.

In a different incident, a middle aged man stabbed another man to death in Kinamba village after he caught him escorting his lover home.

The suspect who has gone into hiding waylaid the couple as they arrived home and stabbed the man on the chest before escaping.
