DCI releases photos of wanted suspects in connection to murder of Pamoja FM journalist

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a manhunt for two more suspects in connection to the brutal murder of Pamoja FM journalist Mohammed Hassan Marjan.

The two suspects, Brian Kenani alias Kaisilo, Fazul (alias), are part of a gang of six that were captured on CCTV robbing Marjan and fatally stabbing him on May 4, in Kibra, Makina area, while heading home from work.

DCI posted photos of the two suspects and asked Kenyans to report any information to that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.

“Any person with any information that may lead to his arrest is requested to report to DCI Kilimani or at the nearest police station.”

The information will be treated with a lot of confidentiality,” said DCI.

Detectives say Marjan was violently robbed before the suspects stabbed him on the chest, killing him instantly.

“In a group of four others, the suspect accosted the deceased who was heading to his place after duty at the said radio station, violently robbed him in which process they stabbed him on the left side of the chest killing him instantly,” said the DCI.

The 4 am incident enraged members of the public who lynched one of the suspects as they hunted down the rest.

“Once the body was taken away to the mortuary, a group of young men gathered and went out looking for a suspected killer. They then took him to the scene of the crime and murdered him there and then,” said the Kibra sub-county deputy commissioner Gideon Ombogi.

So far, two suspects, a 19-year-old man and a 14-year-old juvenile have been arrested after they were identified in CCTV footages.

Detectives are still pursuing the other suspects and a woman who is believed to have aided them.
