Will Mbadi ditch Raila's swearing-in to receive his EGH medal of honour award?

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party national chairman and National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi is among those nominated for receiving of State commendation.

Mbadi was named alongside Kiminini Constituency Member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa.

The two, who are to be awarded by the government belong to National Super Alliance (NASA) which swore not recognize Uhuru’s presidency.

The prestigious awards including Elder of the Golden Heart (EGH) medal of honour, First Class State medal, Head of State Commendation and the coveted honour are to be awarded on December 12 during Jamuhuru Day celebrations.

Jamhuri day is when NASA has set for swearing-in of leader Raila Odinga.

Senate Majority Leader & Senator for Elgeyo Marakwet County Kipchumba Murkomen is listed for the EGH alongside Mbadi and Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka.

Chris Wamalwa, Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi and Kisumu Town West MP Aluoch Olago were nominated for the Chief of the Burning Spear – First Class State medal.

Members of the public have until Tuesday, December 5 to dispute the names of those who were listed.

Candidates mentioned for the coveted honours include Nominated Senator Agnes Zani, Bura MP Ali Wario, and the late Kwale Senator Juma Boy Juma.

Retired assistant Sergeant-at-Arms in the Senate Davide Omura was also listed for his 26 years of service in Parliament.

Orders, decorations, and medals of Kenya are awarded by the President in recognition of outstanding or distinguished services rendered to the nation in various capacities and responsibilities.

Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya is the highest honour in Kenya and has been received by big names like Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
