Kenya-Somalia ties to grow as Farmajo meets Kenyatta at Statehouse

 Kenya-Somalia ties will grow further after President Uhuru held talks with Somalia's president Abdullahi Farmajo at statehouse on Thursday.

Uhuru said that the two countries are seeking to rise together through opening up borders instead of waring the optimism in their citizenry.

He added that the two border points will be opened up further to which direct flights to Mogadishu will resume in two weeks as a way of growing the country.

"We have pressed the reset button and if we continue in this manner that we have today.We stand achieving much more together, " said Uhuru

President Farmajo said that Kenya remains a key ally to Somalia for having hosted the countries citizens as refugees.

He said his government was ready to foster a relationship that will see them grow economically despite challenges.He thanked the President Uhuru for enabling the start of the flights to Nairobi from Mogadishu.

The talks are set to continue into the second day on Friday as they seek to strengthen ties between the two states.
