Residents match to Kondele station in protest of police brutality

Kisumu: A group of residents Thursday matched to Kondele Police Station to protest police brutality.

Led by human rights activist Audi Ogada and Kondele MCA Gabriel Ochieng, the protesters demanded justice for a resident who was allegedly attacked by a police officer at the station.

They claimed that the accused officer was yet to be brought to book despite the fact that he had committed a heinous act against an innocent civilian.

Mr Ochieng' accused the police of laxity in handling the case. "I will not sleep until action is taken against the officer who beat up one of us," said Ochieng.

He added: "We condemn the act in the strongest terms possible, and I will ensure the victims write a statement."
