Maraga names bench to hear BBI case

Chief Justice David Maraga has instituted a five-judge bench to hear and determine a case filed by economist David Ndii and four others challenging constitutional amendments.

Nakuru Law Courts Presiding Judge Justice Joel Ngugi (pictured) will lead the team.

Others are George Odunga, Jairus Ngaah, Janet Mulwa and Chacha Mwita. Dr Ndii, Jerotich Seii, James Ngondi, Wanjiku Gikonyo and Ikal Angelei filed the case at the High Court in Nairobi.

They named the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, his Senate counterpart Ken Lusaka, Attorney General Kihara Kariuki as respondents.
