Nairobi City Stars picked their first win of the 2022-2023 season after coming from behind to edge out former champions Sofapaka 2-1 in a FKF Premier League match played at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.

Congolese forward Rody Manga gave Sofapaka a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute from the spot after Ezekiel Odera was penalized for handling the ball min the box.

Six minutes later, Odera turned from villain to hero after atoned for his earlier error by converting City Star's own penalty after Sofapaka's David Nshirimana was also penalized for a handball.

In the final half, substitute Andrew Kisilu grabbed the winner in the 78th minute to send City Stars out of the relegation zone after a 2-1 win.

In Kisumu, Wazito inflicted more misery on struggling AFC Leopards after defeating them 2-1 in a FKF Premier Leaguer match played at Muhoroni Stadium in Muhoroni.

Victor Omune gave Ingwe the lead in the 22nd minute before Clinton Otieno levelled for the hosts seven minutes to the break.

In the final half, Collins Neto converted a penalty that gifted Wazito their second consecutive win that moved them out of the relegation zone to 14th with seven points.
