KRA and Top Fry All Stars to join the top league after play-offs

KENYA: Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and Top Fry All Stars will play in the next season premier league. KRA won 5-4 against Posta Rangers in post-match penalties after the teams settled for a two-all draw.

All Stars beat Oserian FC 1-0 to earn the slot to play in the league next a season.

Oscar Olwith opened the score after KRA goalkeeper Phillip Odhiambo made a blander to go out of the goal line in the  minute.

Posta Rangers, who were relegated last in 2012, started to scare from the first whistle with the goalkeeper doing his duties between the posts.

Two minutes later, KRA got a corner which Evans Kiwanuka headed wide.

Geoffrey Kataka fired a wide shot in the 29th minute. Posta intensified attacks with Collins Omondi from KRA fouling the scorer of the first goal.

Fredrick Ajwang scored another goal for Posta to make it 2-0 and add salt to injured KRA in the 31st.

Two minutes later, Edwin Mwaura fed  Victor Ochieng’ a pass, but the latter failed to net a third goal firing a wide shot.

KRA coach Ken Kenyatta made a substitution with Kiwanuka making way for fresh boots in Michael Macharia.

Victor Ochieng’ missed two goal scoring opportunities in the dying minutes of the first alone with the goalkeeper.

Rangers went to the breather with a 2-0 lead, but on resumption, to the second half they relaxed unlike their opponents who intensified attacks to score a first goal in the hour mark, thanks to Collins tiego’s strike from Ahmed Mohamed’s cross.

KRA pressed harder and their efforts were rewarded in the 71st minute when Hassan Mohamed equalised 2-2.

The teams drew 2-2 in normal time and they were forced to go for post-match penalties to determine the winner.

Hassan Mohamed stepped forward for the first kick to slot in the first personality, but Ranger’s captain Pascal Ochieng’ netted an equaliser.

Joseph Kataka and Fredrick Ajwang  scored each for KRA with   Joseph Mbuvi netting one for rangers. Douglas Okumu missed a penalty. Oscar Olwith missed his kick to make matters 4-4.

Michael Macharia made matters  5-4 for KRA with Jacob opere’s kick landing safely into the hands of Phillip to deny Posta Rangers  a KPL chance.

In another match played at the same venue, Wilson Andati scored the lone goal in the 28th minute to steer Top Fry All Stars from Nakuru against Naivasha side Oserian.

The match started on a high note with both teams yearning for the top tier league next season.Top Fry dominated the first half with Oserian struggling to get back into the match.

All Stars coach head coach Peter Okidi  sent a stern warning to other coaches n the league saying they are not only going to participate the league.

“I am happy for the chance to play in the top league next season.I am telling all the coaches in the league that we are going for the top prize,” said Okidi.
