It’s not a secret that green tea has many health benefits. Drinking it supplies your body with nutrients that fight liver disease, boost your immunity to keep colds at bay, prevent diabetes, keep your bones strong and other countless benefits. It’s also a great weight loss drink that improves your metabolism so you can reach your body goals quicker.

All these health benefits are enough to make you grab a box of green tea bags but did you know that there are still some added beauty benefits?

I’m talking about beauty hacks that aren’t necessarily about drinking the tea.

Use it as an exfoliator

Green tea scrub does wonders for your skin. It reduces the appearance of scars and hydrates your skin giving it a youthful glow. Brew a tea bag in hot water then let it cool or proceed without brewing the leaves. Remove the leaves from the bag and mix them with brown sugar and coconut oil then scrub away.

Cleanser

This works as the perfect cleanser for sensitive skin. It’s also just as effective in clearing acne scars. You can trade in your usual cleanser for this natural hack and see whether it works for you. Collect the water from the bag and let it sit in the fridge for a while then rinse your face with it.

Under eye soother

Once in a while, you wake up with dark circles and puffy eyes. Whether you’re just from pulling an all-nighter or you just haven’t been getting enough sleep, this is the perfect hack for you. It also works well to eliminate fine lines around your eyes. When you’re done dinking the tea, don’t throw the bag away. Let it sit in the fridge for a few minutes then massage it around your eyes.

Green tea facemask

The tea has good anti-aging, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that can benefit your skin care journey. You can dip cotton pads in the tea and let them sit on your face once you’ve cleaned i) for a few minutes. You can also switch things up once in a while by collecting the damp leaves, mix with honey and apply the mixture on your face.

Powerful ice hack

One amazing hack that some women swear by is the ice bath dip. You basically dip your face in a bowl of icy water for a few seconds at a go and experience the amazing antiaging benefits it has.

Now, imagine all the added benefits you get when you switch the water with green tea. Well, you don’t need to have a whole tray of green tea ice cubes for this hack, but you can either carefully rub an ice cube directly on your skin or wrap it in a light cloth before rubbing it on your face to avoid burns. The result is tightened pores and glowing skin that’s been well hydrated. It could also work as a sunburn relief.

With all these hacks, you can still drink the tea to work on your skin from the inside too.
