Skin Care
 Make-up kit

We all know someone that loves make-up and her application levels are close to pro, another whose make-up skills are so bad, they need intervention, then the regular make-up lover who could do with a bit of tweaking once in a while.

While no one is perfect, here are some of the make-up mistakes can be avoided

 Using wrong shade of foundation

At times people are in denial of their skin tones and shade, which leads them to picking lighter or darker foundation colours. The best thing is to get a professional to tell you what shade of foundation works best with your complexion, then working with it.

Using low quality lipsticks that chip

With so many trendy lipstick brands flooding the market and others costing a fortune, it is normal for make-up lovers to go for knock offs which may be a replicate of the original lipstick brands.Unfortunately, the composition ingredients in such lipstick may be so poor. Quality that your lipstick keeps chipping and may eventually affect your lips!

Drawing on random eyebrows

Your eyebrows are not twins! So, don’t walk around with eyebrows that are entirely similar because the right side of your face differs from your left. However, when drawing on your brows, pick a look that best complements your face and don’t over-shade the brows.

Using the wrong shade of lipsticks – A lipstick can make or break your look. Stick to colours that are natural and suit your skin tone. Dark shades can look tacky. If you do go in for dark colours, while nude lipstick is likely to disappear on one’s face but once you find the perfect shade, make sure it matches the rest of your makeup.

Wrong eyeshadow application

Eyeshadow comes in different colours so best believe that someone is bound to spot it on your face. While these beautiful products come in different textures as well, it is important to pick ones that will not run/melt off your eyes. Better yet, use an eye primer to keep the shadows in place.

Badly shaped wing liner

Sometimes, a winged cat-eye may end up looking like a mess on your face! It is advisable to use black eyeliner only if you have a darker skin tone, else it ends up looking quite harsh. If you have a lighter skin tone, it is best you stick to brown liners.

Mascara mistakes – Running mascara First things first, you must use a mascara that is two shades darker than your eyebrow colour. Never apply more than two coats of mascara, or your eyelashes will end up looking extremely clumpy.

Too much blush

Excessive blush can make you look like a clown. Whenever putting on blush, use foundation. Otherwise, the colour becomes too hard on your cheeks. And make sure to swirl the brush in the product, tap off excess and then apply on your face. Otherwise, you will pick up too much product and end up looking overdone.

Applying make- up in wrong light

Excessive light is bound to get you wrong shades of make-up colours during application. Make sure to do your application in sufficient light and if you get a friend to do it, make sure to point out a disparity If you spot it.

Sleeping with make-up on.

There’s absolutely no excuse for going to bed without removing all traces of makeup. To keep your skin healthy, make sure you remove the makeup before you go to sleep. Failing to do so will make your skin dry, prone to acne and infections.

That said, make-up is supposed to be fun, don’t be too harsh on yourself!
