As women all around the world celebrate International Women’s Day with the main theme being “Make it happen”, Kenyan women led by the First lady Margaret Kenyatta have indeed brought the theme to life.
The First lady has taken part in the Beyond Zero half marathon at the Nyayo Stadium today morning with the aim of improving maternal and child health in Kenya.
She has set a new record of 3hrs 24 min 55sec, this being her second time marathon.
Many Kenyans turned in large numbers to participate in the half marathon marking a successful International Women’s Day
