Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has announced that she is in remission following a year-long battle with cancer.
She shared this news during a surprise visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, where she received treatment.
In an emotional Instagram post, the 43-year-old royal expressed her gratitude towards the medical staff and empathised with cancer patients about the "tough" treatment but reassured them there was light at the end of that tunnel.
"I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year.My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything.
We couldn't have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional." Read the post.
Kate's cancer journey became public in March 2024 when she revealed her diagnosis and subsequent major abdominal surgery.
She underwent nine months of chemotherapy, completing her treatment in September 2024. During this time, she made limited public appearances and gradually resumed her royal duties, including hosting a carol concert and attending Christmas Day service at Sandringham.

"It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support." Concluded the post.
Kate also announced her new role as Joint Patron of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, a position previously held by Princess Diana. She emphasized her commitment to supporting groundbreaking research, clinical excellence, and the well-being of patients and their families.
