Michelle Alozie is the star of the week. The Nigerian footballer hit the headlines following an incident that happened during their 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup match against England.
In the incident, England star Lauren James was sent off after intentionally stamping on Alozie's butt leading to worldwide condemnation. In a classic show, Alozie played down the incident and went on to praise Lauren as a wonderful footballer.
There appear to be no hard feelings between the two players, with Alozie tweeting: "Abeg rest, we are playing on the world's stage. This game is one of passion, insurmountable emotions and moments. All respect for Lauren James."
Lauren who plays for Chelsea post-tweeted Alozie's post, writing: "All my love and respect to you. I am sorry for what happened."
