Kudos to MPs for passing Marriage Bill amendments

For many years, women had a field day snatching away men’s birth rights. Women always fight for the rights of fellow women. Men, on the other hand, fight for human rights. You notice the selfishness?

It is always about them. You always see them run all over the place like a headless chicken, fighting for the girl child, but conveniently forgetting the plight of the boy child.

Consequently, women are now so empowered that some men might be tempted to curse God as they wonder why they were born male.

But the good news is that some smart legislators have realised the future of men looks bleak. That is why they have to reclaim some of the many liberties that were being taken away from men.

On this note, The Chauvinist would like to give a shoutout to the National Assembly for amending the Marriage Bill to deny jilted lovers the right to seek unjustified damages.

Equally good is the clause giving men a free hand to marry a second, third or fourth wife, if they so wish.

These amendments would not have come at a better time for eligible bachelors across the country. Women have become so desperate they want to be married by force, literally.

So much so that they are trapping men with pregnancies and use the babies to make money from men.

You have all seen how men have been hauled to court in matters related to child support. Some women even shepherd men to chief’s camp to force him to marry them. Gosh!

The MPs were wise to realise that no one should be forced to marry anyone because of “a mere marriage promise” probably made in the heat of the moment when making love.

Secondly, for those already married under customary law, the amendment to give them an opportunity to get a second, third or fourth wife is Godsend.

Women can mistreat men by denying them food or sex once she knows that the man is only tied down to her.

However, if she knows that if she dares play around a man can get a second wife, she would watch her steps and treat the man right all the time.

Nonetheless, even as I support the amendment, I will not support mistreatment of the first wife. It is common to see first wives get mistreated once the man marries the second wife.

Both male and female legislators should do more to ensure that much as the man will be allowed to take a second wife, he will not escape the responsibility of taking care of the first family.

I appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta to assent to the Bill as soon as possible! If you did not know, the beloved president is a product of a polygamous family, and look at what the nation would have missed had Old Jomo Kenyatta been denied a chance to marry more than one wife.

It’s the selfish women making a lot of noise! By the way, there are many women who don’t mind getting married as wife number two or three, and are very happy with the law.
