Meghan Markle has sent a touching birthday message to her husband, Prince Harry, on his 35th birthday.

Taking to Instagram the Duchess of Sussex said Harry was 'the best husband and most amazing dad' to their son Archie.

Meghan gave birth to Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6.

On the Sussex Royal Instagram page Meghan wrote: “Your service to the causes you care so deeply for inspires me every day.

"You are the best husband and most amazing dad to our son. We love you. Happiest birthday!”

A collage of pictures shows Prince Harry being held by Princess Diana as she disembarks a plane in 1984, along with him as a toddler and speaking to brother, William, as children.

Focusing on his work, it continues with snaps of him in the army, doing charity work, and most recently a picture of his wedding to Meghan last May, and a new photo of the christening of baby Archie.

Meghan and Harry have kept Archie away from the spotlight since his birth and are reportedly keen to give him a normal upbringing.

However, recently, the Duke gave a rare update on how his baby son is doing.

While at a royal engagement at Lealands High School, Harry was asked by one of the children: "Prince Harry, how is everything going with Archie?"

The proud dad responded: "He is really well, thanks, and he's getting so big."

The Prince was visiting Lealands to see the Rugby Football Union (RFU) All Schools programme in action, an initiative designed to encourage children to take up the sport.

This week was a busy one for the royals with the Duchess ending her maternity leave.

The former Suits star attended the launch of her Smart Set capsule collection in collaboration with Smart Works charity.

During the event Meghan gave a speech, praising the work of Smart Works, an organization that helps outfit women for their job interviews.
